1.      What is Nano Technology?

  • 1 nanometer is approximately 100,000 times thinner than a human hair
  • Nanotechnology is a rapidly growing science of producing and utilizing nano sized particles that measure in nanometers (1 nanometer = 1 billionth of a metre)
  • The term nanoparticle is generally used to indicate particles with dimensions less than 100 nanometers
  • As comparison, a smoke particle is approximately 1,000 nanometers in diameter

2.      What is the purpose of SMARTCOAT applications?

  • For ”continuous self-disinfecting and self-sanitizing” application
  • Anti-virus and anti-bacteria
  • Air purification
  • Anti-mold and anti-moss
  • Deodorization

3.      Are surfaces applied with SMARTCOAT able to disinfect SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) virus upon contact?

  • Yes it can. Based on testing report according to EN14476 standard by Tropical Infectious Diseases Research and Education Center (TIDREC) Biocontainment Level III facility, SMARTCOAT can disinfect 99.999% COVID-19 virus when upon contact of treated surfaces within 1 minute.

5.      What is Titanium Dioxide (TiO2)?

  • Titanium is the 9th most common element on earth and titanium dioxide is used as a white pigment in paint and cosmetics. As a pigment a lower grade titanium dioxide is used.
  • Very high grade of photo reactive titanium dioxide is used for photocatalyst applications such as air purifying, anti-bacteria and anti-virus.
  • Its high levels of reaction to light enable it to act as a catalyst to produce large quantities of hydroxyl radicals that cause the oxidation of organic matter through sterilization while purifying air pollutants all at the same time.
  • Titanium dioxide does this without changing its own structure thus enabling it to have a lasting lifespan.
  • It is non-toxic to the environment and humans.

6.      Is SMARTCOAT safe? Are Nano Products safe? 

  • SMARTCOAT is utilizing Nano Titanium Dioxide technology. So it is part of Nano products.
  • Titanium Dioxide is used as a photocatalyst is physically and chemically safe. The US certified it as a food additive in 1968. Meanwhile, Japan certified it in 1983.
  • It is now widely used in the making of white chocolates and functional cosmetics including lipsticks.
  • The Food Analysis Center of Japan Food Research Laboratories and Mitsubishi Chemical Safety Institute Ltd demonstrated its safety through skin simulating tests and oral toxicity test.

7.      What is the Photocatalyst process?

  • Photocatalysis is the creation of strong oxidation agent to breakdown organic matter to carbon dioxide and water.
  • Photocatalysis requires the presence of natural or artificial light.

8.      What is oxidation?

  • It is the process of chemical change
  • Oxidizing cells of microorganisms causes the rupture of the cell and leakage of vital composition.

9.      How does SMARTCOAT protect against bacteria and viruses?

  • Microorganisms carry a negative charge while Titanium Dioxide coated surface carries a positive charge. This creates an “electromagnetic” attraction between microbes and the treated surface. Once contact is made, the microbes will be eliminated instantly.

10. Will SMARTCOAT be easily scratched out/removed from the surface once applied?

  • SMARTCOAT dries almost instantly after application. Hardness of SMARTCOAT will be to MOH 7. For comparison sake, car paint hardness is MOH 4.

NAOCLEAN

1.      How much disinfectant water solution can you generate with 1kg of PECA high purified salt??

  • 450 litres of disinfectant water (100ppm)

2.      Can NAOCLEAN disinfectant water be consumed?

  • 100ppm PECA disinfectant water can be consumed however it will eliminate all good and bad bacteria in the body. Therefore, it is not recommended for consumption.

3.      What is the safety procedure and containment? Fire hazardous?

  • Safe. It is not fire hazard.

4.      How to store produced disinfectant water?

  •  Store in covered room temperature away from direct sunlight.
  • Sunlight and heat will affect its performance.

5.      Will the disinfecting machine react with flammable compounds and redactors? Some will cause explosion due to chemical reactions.

  • This machine is not producing Hydrogen gas unlike other machines. So it is safe.

6.      What is the water PH generated by NAOCLEAN generators?

  • Neutral. PH is 7.0 – 7.5

7.      Does it require ventilation during usage of the machine?

  • Yes, ventilation is required to ensure smooth running of the machine.

8.      How long can the machine operate at one go?

  • The machine can operate at a maximum of 2 hours. After that 1 hour interval resting period before continuing again. The same process repeats after.

9.      Will the disinfecting water cause any eye or skin irritation?

  • Generally no but subjective to individuals.
